Have you ever wondered what your life would be 5 to 10 years from now? Is it something you have been dreaming of since you were little? Or did 2020 made a big impact in your life that all your plans are now the unthinkable? If so, allow me to share something about the biggest shift I did as I start my 2021.

I am a new member of the virtual assistance savvy group and I’ve read so many inspiring stories about the struggle and success in becoming a virtual savvy. I became very keen to this “change of career” just last year due to the pandemic and my story is probably different.

I worked, well still am as part of the health care team and I’ve been doing this for 6 years since I graduated from my degree but suddenly I just felt like I need to breathe. I have been continuously searching for my happiness but it hit me hard when I felt like taking care of sick people is the only thing that I can do. I love my profession to be honest but if I ask myself “Do you see yourself doing the same thing for the next 5-10 years?”, my younger self would probably answer a resounding yes but now that I am in my late 20s, I have doubts.

However, I asked myself “How do I begin?” if the only thing that I consider myself good at is taking care of the sick. Believe me when I say I read so many articles about paradigm shifts and felt like an idiot knowing how close minded I was. My younger self would say “Finish a degree, work and be rich”. That was my mindset. Whatever degree I have is what’s going to make me successful but apparently not. We can create our own definition of success but if we’re not open for change then probably it’s far from the possibility.

Now that I am slowly creating my new life, I have come across to this group as referred by a friend named Virtual Assistant Savvies. I decided to join in a community where I can learn new skills like Skill Share community and even joined a Filipino owned company, Filipino Virtual Assistance sharing how to become a freelancer as an initial step. Been crazy and learning how to create graphics, designs and navigating Adobe Creative Cloud. Also learning about how to become a virtual assistant and social media management. I am taking it slowly as I enjoy the process.

Change is good. Change means you are embarking a new journey that will create an even more exciting opportunity for you. The world is our playground. Time means freedom. So if I ask you again, have you wondered what your life would be 5-10 years from now, what would be your answer?
